 Lok Towards your future

Hunting is an industry with a future

There are millions of hunters in America and throughout the world who love the outdoors and the thrill of the hunt. They find personal fulfillment and satisfaction as they put meat on their tables and trophies on their walls. Fathers and sons and wives and daughters enjoy one another and the great outdoors as they carry on family traditions that build memories that last a life time.

A successful hunt

Western Montana School for Guides was founded by Outfitter and Hunting Guide, Scott Boulanger, who built a successful outfitting business and realized that there was a need for a school that would help others enter the professional hunting and outfitting industry.

His companies, Top Gun Hunting, Circle KBL Outfitters and Guides and Selway Adventures have taken thousands of hunters and outdoor enthusiasts into the mountains of Montana and the Selway Wilderness in Idaho where they have enjoyed successful hunts and outdoor wilderness adventures.

The school is built upon the motto that “Great Guides aren’t born, they are trained.”

Scott and his experienced staff, put together and refined a hands on training program. It provides a great education to those individuals who want to become leaders in their field and enjoy the personal satisfaction that comes from providing clients from around the nation and the world the hunting experience of a life time. There are new schools that try to copy our program, but there is no way to copy the many years of successful outfitting and teaching experience that is represented by Western Montana School for Guides.

We have a long list of successful graduates who are working as successful guides.

Jessie on the JobTo be a successful guide there are many areas of knowledge and experience that must be learned. For the Back Country hunt an ability to ride a horse and pack a mule are fundamental necessities.  The crafts and skills of tracking, calling and finding game are essential. Knowledge of the laws that govern hunting big game animals and taking clients into the wilderness are important for  many reasons for the client’s successful hunting experience.

The staff at Western Montana School for Guides are working outfitters and guides who take the time to share their hard earned knowledge and skills with aspiring students. They are experts in their fields and provide the student with the knowledge and experience necessary to become successful themselves.
